Current Positions Available:
Day Program Support Staff Position (On-call/Casual) – Sunrise Youth Group

The role of the Day Program Support Staff (DPSS) is to provide physical, emotional, and social support in a group setting for young adults with developmental and physical disabilities. The successful candidate will be required to be knowledgeable and current with the organization’s programs, resources, partners and local activities and will be expected to collaborate with other staff to provide the best quality of care for all participants in the Sunrise Day Program, which includes supporting the development of life, literacy and social skills.

As a member of the Sunrise Youth Group staff, the successful candidate will take initiative in creating and implementing new programming or augmenting programs to increase success and learning; will adapt all programs to suit the needs of each individual; will ensure that a safe and inclusive environment is provided for all participants and other staff.

Sunrise Youth Group Day Program runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. This is an on-call/casual position, which would require the successful candidate to be available to fill in when permanent staff is away.

 
Qualifications:
• Post secondary education in a related field (Personal Support Worker, Developmental
  Service Worker, Human Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, Recreation and
  Leisure etc.)
• Minimum of 1 year experience; not-for-profit experience would be an asset
• Excellent oral and written skills
• Excellent time management abilities
• Strong ability to multitask
• Superior communication skills
• Keen interest in programming for educational lessons or life skills development
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Criminal Reference Check
• Valid driver’s license
